Calvin Ming wrapped up the 2018 championship this past weekend where he recorded his season best of 2nd position to bring his points total to 206, good enough to secure him 5th overall. His stellar performance throughout the season also helped his team, Pabst Racing, take him the team championship trophy, scoring 349 points.
Ming said, “We were able to clinch the team championship for the second time in a row for the Pabst team and that is an amazing feeling, being able to win it in the final round since everyone worked so hard this season.â€
“The season had its ups and downs. We struggled for the first half of the season falling far down the order in points but at the halfway point with some changes, we started to make a charge back up the point standings to a top-5 finish,†the Guyanese added.
He continued, “I’m happy to be able to have another solid result for a second year in a row but missed out 3rd in the championship by only 9 points. So that is a tough one for me.â€

To top the season off, Ming was awarded the ‘Slickest Pass of the Year’ award.
Ming’s successful USF2000 season follows up on his 2017 successes in winning the NACAM F4 Driver’s Championship Title.
He has indicated that he is grateful to his sponsors Apan and Mings Products & Services who have made his successes possible. Ming has not yet decided on what the 2019 season will hold but is due to make a decision soon.
Congratulations Calvin on your strong finish and we’re supporting you 100% in your next move!
