At approximately 4:15 pm yesterday during our 2 hour endurance race, our first event for the year, driver Pierre Singh developed car issues which resulted in his Toyota Starlet becoming engulfed in flames.
Pierre managed to quickly escape the burning car, after which several other competitors stopped to render assistance.
Fire fighters soon arrived at the scene and managed to completely quell the flames.
Pierre was taken to the medical center where he was assessed and treated. He was then transported to a city hospital for further assessment and treatment.
He suffered minor burns on his legs and has since been released from the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery with no issues.
